Engineered wood Flooring

Engineered Flooring closely resembles solid wood flooring but is composed differently. It consists of multiple layers of cross plywood with a genuine solid wood veneer ranging from 2mm to 8mm in thickness, offering various price and quality options. Unlike Laminate flooring, which is a wood picture bonded to a backing board, Engineered Flooring provides authenticity.

The cross ply structure of Engineered Wood Flooring provides strength and stability, addressing common issues like cupping and tenting due to moisture. Engineered floors are suitable for various environments, including kitchens, bathrooms, and even basements. They are also compatible with underfloor heating.

Installation methods vary, but floating the floor on high-quality underlay is the most common and cost-effective option compared to gluing or nailing used for solid wood floors. Engineered Wood Flooring offers a diverse range of styles, from rustic grains to uniform patterning, and often comes prefinished for immediate use, though unfinished boards are available for specific circumstances.

These floors are easy to maintain and more hygienic than carpets. With proper care, they can last a lifetime, adding significant value to any home. According to estate agents, homes with wooden floors sell twice as easily. Oak flooring is a particularly popular option among the various types of solid wood available.
